Cleaner technologies that can be adopted:

 Separation of each stream of effluent and individual pretreatment before equalization.

 Wax recovery may be adopted where wool scouring is carried out.

 Caustic recovery plant may be installed after mercerising process. It will not only reduce the consumption of caustic but also reduce the water consumption and volume of water.

 Ammonia Mercerising is another technology  where no effluent would be generated from this process.

 Use of  one type of salt in dye preparation.
