Prof. Aloke Mookherjea

Chairman, FLAKT (India) Limited
A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Chartered Engineer, Mr. Mookherjea, brings along a vast and rich corporate experience spanning across many decades. Currently the Chairman of Flakt India Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of a ~1 bn Euro group, Mr. Mookherjea is involved deeply, as chairman/member of various boards, in the industrial activities in the state and the nation. In the past he has held extensive and all-embracing, top management positions, overseeing entire operations and functions. He has had country-wide responsibility for marketing, technology, R&D, Corporate Planning and Communication, Information Technology, HR, Quality Control, Process Improvement, Internal Consulting, Environment, Sustainability etc. He has been member of the CPCB, Govt. of India, for six years as also a member of Hon'ble Supreme Court appointed committee on environmental compliance. He has also been a long time chairman of the environment committee of CII and has led many industrial and environmental delegation to several countries, chaired sessions in various national and international seminars on environment, presented papers etc.


Prof. Dr. Siddhartha Datta
Pro Vice Chancellor, Jadavpur University

Professor Dr. Siddhartha Datta, currently Pro-VC of renowned Jadavpur University, is a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a field of specialization in Seperation Processses and Environmental Science and Enginnering. He has about 27 years of teaching and research experience and has produced over 100 research papers and 3 patents to his credit by now. For his outstanding work on Environment and Chemical engineering he has received many prestigious award, ENVIRONMEND 2005, Sir Ganga Ram Memorial Medal to name a few. He acted in various roles such as Chief Coordinator, Pricipal Investigator, Co-Investigator of Sponsored Research Activities under DRDO, DST of Govt. of India, WBPCB, AICTE etc. In many national and international seminars he participated and presented Jadavpur University with his grand contribution and also organized, chaired such activities many a times. Also, he collaborated with Industries in the form of tendering consultancy to at least 30 industries by now like Hindustan Lever, ESAB Industry Limited, Kalyani Yeast, Prakash Distillery, Tata Chemicals, Indian Airlines etc. Prof. Dattta has also taken key role in Laboratory Development Activities such as creating a “Pollution Control Laboratory” of Chemical Engg Dept. under AICTE Project
 



 

Dr. Amitava Bandopadhyay
Senior Deputy Director, National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur
Dr. Amitava Bandopadhyay holds a doctoral degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and is currently working as a Senior Deputy Director (Scientist G) at the National Metallurgical Laboratory (CSIR), Jamshedpur. He specializes in “Environmental and waste management in metallurgical industries” and “Alternative routes of iron making”. Winner of the National Metallurgist Day (NMD) Award [Metallurgist of the year Award] of the Ministry of Steel & Mines, Govt. of India (1998) for significant contributions towards understanding and mitigation of pollution in foundries; Indranil Award from Mining, Geological and Metallurgical Institute of India (1997) and PL Thermal Sciences (UK) – ITAS Award from the Indian Thermal Analysis Society (1993), Dr. Bandopadhyay has over 120 papers and six patents to his credit. He has also edited six books on “Metallurgy and environment”. He has contributed significantly towards improving environmental performance of iron and steel industries as well as operational optimization of rotary kiln sponge iron making process. He is a Member of the the “Technical Review Committee” of the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India, New Delhi and the “Registration Committee for Recycling of Hazardous Wastes” of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi. He has carried out his Post-doctoral Research in the Pennsylvania State University, USA and University of Leeds, UK.
